HELLO

A design researcher, educator and multi-disciplinary maker specialising in circular materials and textile crafts, Sara holds an MA in Design for Social Innovation and Sustainable Futures at UAL. Her socially engaged arts practice explores textile craft and creative reuse of consumer waste and foraged natural materials whilst engaging communities including children and adults with disabilities and chronic illness. She spent several years in South Asia leading Fashion and Textile degree programmes within higher education in Sri Lanka. Collaborating with grassroot textile craft communities including in Batik, Banana Fibre, Natural Dyeing and Weaving.  She recently completed a research project with weaving arts organisation Intertwine Arts in New York, exploring inclusive artistic perspectives and circular processes.
