Strisabha.

Strisabha is a social enterprise initiative set up with the aim to support and promote communities of women through cocreated textile accessory products that repurpose locally sourced waste materials. Telling the stories of the social enterprises and promoting those we collaborate with on each product range contributes to the brand’s positive impact. Creating purposeful hand-made unique products in small batch production, for each product range we collaborate with different women’s groups to support their cause whilst exploring different areas of speciality, materials and techniques.

MISSION

To collaborate with women to uplift, empower, educate, promote and volunteer our time to charities, NGOs and social enterprises that uplift women.

VISION:

To support the empowerment of women in marginalised communities through knowledge and skill sharing whilst creating employment opportunities through production of design led products.

COLLABORATIONS:

Whilst navigating the project start up during Covid lockdown and restrictions in Sri Lanka, the following partnerships were formed:

● Apeksha (Social Enterprise) - The blind and visually impaired women have stitched our reuse tote bags using garment industry textile waste.

● The Centre for Women and Development (CWD Jaffna) Facilitating a series of workshops as part of their Batik training programme including textile print design, natural dye and an initiative stitching Covid masks for local donation utilising the leftover batik samples.

● Booteek (Social Enterprise) - Production of a co-designed range of up-cycled accessories made by underprivileged and special needs women.
